I've uploaded a new dialogue to add to the collection. This one is 'geeting to know you'. Pupils read the original in pairs, then make changes to parts in bold, using suggestions on the right. There are many others like this on the site. This one is for Y10, but could be used with fast younger groups. CEFR A1/2.

I have created a document, based on four blog posts, about teaching A-level. It includes links out to blog posts, so is pretty comprehensive, covering principles, working with texts, teaching film and literature, and preparing students for assessment. This would make a good handout for teachers new to teaching A-level. It is in the A-Level section and on the Free Samples page.
I've posted a second GCSE Higher Reading and Understanding paper based, this time, on the Pearson-Edexcel specimen. Answers given. These can be used for other purposes, of course, including end-of-year exams.
A vocab retrieval starter for near beginners. Pupils work in pairs. A makes a noise to represent a word on their list. B guesses. Then vice versa. Based on the game Soundiculous. Two word lists (12 items each) provided, one for each partner. Use with caution!! But could be a really fun starter or filler for the right class. CEFR A1.
