, Y10-11 (Intermediate)

A paired information gap task. 'Astrid en vacances.' In pairs, each pupil has six things Astrid did during her holiday in La Rochelle. The times and dates are mixed up. Between them, the students must establish the correct timeline. This requires using the perfect tense, third person. Easy to extend by getting students to retell the holiday in the first person and add other activities. A high-performing Y9 class could do this. CEFR A2.

, Y12-13 (Advanced)

For Y13. A pair work info gap task where each partner is given six key dates about France's involvement in WW2 (dates + a note about what occurred). The dates are out of order. Between them, the pair must talk to each other to work out the combined list of 12 dates, in the right chronological order. You'll find this in the discussion tasks section, right-hand column.
